Design Goals

  • To establish the company as a bold, confident, and authentic presence in the handmade jewelry market.

  • The visual identity should reflect Tamara’s personal connection to metalsmithing—expressing both her artistry and her obsession with craft.

  • The visual identity should convey contrast: raw and refined, elegant and rebellious.

  • The visual identity should embody the experience of wearing the jewelry—empowering, personal, and expressive.

  • The visual identity should be a vessel for Tamara’s voice: snarky, edgy, and full of heart.

  • To elevate the customer journey, from first impression to unboxing, as a tactile and memorable brand experience.

Exploration + Process

We began with deep discovery process—unpacking Tamara’s connection to her work, her inspirations, and her customer base. The brand voice came first: bold, edgy, a little rebellious, and deeply personal. From there, the logo was developed to embody strength and artistry, with bold lines and a refined-but-raw aesthetic.

The final logo suite features a custom mark inspired by the local dwarf dogwood flower, with sharp leaf points that echo the hand-forged, bold nature of Tamara’s work. The design honors her identity as a maker and artist while bringing edge and refinement. A full suite of submarks and lockups was crafted for flexible use across stamps, packaging, and digital applications.

Color + Type

Typography balances boldness with minimalism, creating space for her pieces to shine. Type choices emphasized both attitude and elegance:

  • Agrandir Grand Bold for headlines—loud, confident, unapologetic

  • Coconut Pro Light to bring calm contrast and a touch of whimsy

  • Montserrat for readability in supporting copy

The color story is rich and earthy, echoing the tones of natural stones and rugged landscapes.

  • Tourmaline Wine (#4c242d) – deep and bold, like her work

  • Seafoam Amazonite (#81a8a0) – a soft pop of contrast

  • Jasper (#a54e33) – warm and fiery

  • Alabaster (#cfc4b1) – a soft neutral

  • Midnight Sodalite (#333a49) – a moody blue

  • Obsidian Abyss (#26272c) – grounding and sleek

Brand Extensions

Custom patterns were developed for packaging and supporting materials, reinforcing brand cohesion. New business cards, care cards, and thank you notes with functional inserts helped create a thoughtful and elevated brand experience. The patterns were printed as tissue paper and washi tape, for that next level unboxing experience.

Outcome

Tamara now has a cohesive visual identity that reflects both her artistry and attitude.

The new logo and packaging have been incredibly well received, drawing enthusiastic responses across Tamara’s social platforms. The refreshed brand helps her stand out in a crowded handmade market, enhances the perceived value of her work, and gives her the confidence to pursue wholesale growth and repeat business beyond in-person shows.

The luxurious, tactile packaging—including blind-embossed earring cards and thoughtful unboxing details—has amplified the brand’s handcrafted appeal. The new visual identity not only reflects her work more authentically but is also helping to build deeper connections with her audience.

"Brianna rocks! She truly understands the power behind branding, and worked her butt off to make sure her work represented everything I hold dear in my business. There were points during the process I became convinced she was a mind reader. She was able to put into words and graphics what I could only begin to describe. Brianna was professional, thorough, and most of all, a caregiver of my baby business ideas. Her designs grew and evolved in support of my design needs and surpassed all expectations."
